Ahoy, Heather! Welcome to planDisney and thanks for sailing over with your question about Disney Cruise Line.
When you are sailing with a larger party that occupies multiple staterooms, the easiest way to indicate to Disney Cruise Line that you are sailing together is to link the reservations. That will help you get assigned to the same table during rotational dining and will also make it easier to plan other activities together like Port Adventures.
You can easily link the reservations yourself by following these steps:
- Start by going to the main Disney Cruise Line website and clicking on the tab at the top right labeled “Already Booked.”
- Select the option labeled “My Reservations” under “My Disney Cruise” and you will be prompted to login to your MyDisney account.
- Once you login, a page will open showing your upcoming cruise and a drop-down box on the right hand side that lists your reservation number.
- If you click on your reservation number, there will be a blue link at the bottom of that drop-down box that says “Add and Link Reservations.”
- Click on that blue link and that will open up a new page where you can add the other staterooms to link your entire sailing party together.
In order to link the other staterooms to your reservation, you will need the booking confirmation number for each stateroom and both the last name and date of birth for the primary guest staying in each stateroom. Although it may not be a concern, just be aware that connecting reservations does share all of the details of the reservations, including balance and payment information.
After you have linked your entire sailing party’s staterooms together, you just need to confirm that everyone has the same dining time to ensure that you are seated together. You can use the same “My Reservations” tab on the website to open each reservation separately from the drop-down box and scroll down the page to find the assigned dining time in the white box labeled “Dining.” If all of the reservations have the same dining time indicated, then you don’t need to do anything else. However, if some staterooms have early seating and others have late seating, then you will need to switch all of them to the same dining time to be seated together.
On the reservation page for each stateroom, you can use the blue “Change Seating” link in the “Dining” box to select your desired option. Sometimes it will say that the early seating time is already full, but hopefully you will not have that problem since your sailing isn’t until April. If you do run into that issue, then it may only allow you to switch all of the reservations to the late seating or to select the option to be added to the waiting list for the early dining time. In the unlikely event that happens, you can always call Disney Cruise Line directly and ask them to make a note in your reservation that your entire party is trying to be assigned together for rotational dining at the early seating.
