Hello! I am traveling with my family of 4 in April '13 to WDW. My mom will be joining us for 4 of the 7 days. What do you suggest as far as where to stay? It is my kids DD 4 and DD6 first time visiting. I haven't been since '98. Thanks!

Hi Michelle! Sounds like an exciting Disney vacation for your family. How wonderful that your mom can come and share in the memories that will be made.

There are three levels of resorts to choose from at Walt Disney World.  The Value category is obviously the least expensive although the resorts are quite nice. Room sizes can be a bit smaller and the amenities fewer. Pools will not have slides but they will have fun things to do. There are no restaurants but there are food courts and shops. My favorite with this category is the newest one, Art of Animation. They have family suites which could sleep all of you and there are two bathrooms.

My choice for moderate resort is Port Orleans either Riverside of French Quarter. I suggest two rooms that connect at this resort.

In the Deluxe category I like either the Polynesian or the Yacht and Beach Club. Both offer some wonderful amenities but again you would want two rooms.

There is one other option that we have used on occasion and that is the Villas. They have these at Animal Kingdom, Beach Club, Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge, Saratoga Springs, and Old Key West. They have two bedroom units that are wonderful as they come with full kitchen, two baths, and washer and dryer. You can save money on food by having the kitchen available.

I almost forgot about the Fort Wilderness cabins. These can fit all of you in one but there is only one bathroom. They come with a double bed and bunk beds in the bedroom and then a pull down murphy bed in the living area. They also come with a full kitchen.
