We are traveling with 2 other families to WDW in 2018. We all have different dining plans. How does it work when trying to make reservations for meals together? Do we need separate reservations for each group?

    Hi Christie,

Deciding on advanced dining reservations is my favorite part of planning a Walt Disney World vacation! In fact, dining may be my family's favorite activity of our vacations.

You are welcome to make reservations for your entire party at once, regardless of how different members of your party are paying. When you are seated, your server will ask if anyone is using a Disney Dining Plan or other discount program. You can let him or her know then how you want the bills divided and who will be using what plan or discount.

I've been in large groups where several people were on the dining plan, others were using passholder discounts and others were simply paying out-of-pocket. Each time, the server has been able to accommodate.

I'm not sure how many are in your total party, Christie, but please note that some restaurants do not take reservations online for larger parties. In that case, you often can make have two members of your group make reservations for half the necessary number. Then, if you arrive a bit early at the restaurant, you can ask that your reservations be combined. You may have to divide into more than one table, however.

I've had personal experience with groups of 12 or more at these restaurants and found them to be especially accommodating: Boma, Rose & Crown, the Wave, Kona Cafe, 'Ohana, Trail's End and Paradiso 37.

Thanks for dropping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I'm limited on space but would love to offer my favorite dining experiences if you need recommendations. Just check back! Enjoy!
