Welcome to planDisney, Sammy-Jo! Your Disney trip sounds like it's going to be so much fun. Traveling with two families means double the magic! I totally understand wanting to make sure you're seated together while dining, and I've got some tips to help.
When you make a
dining reservation, you are only asked for the number of people dining, so there's no need to link two different reservations for dining purposes. Instead, to ensure that your whole group sits together, one person should book the dining reservations for the entire group rather than each family booking separately. That way, the reservation system will recognize your full party size and seat you together whenever possible!
That being said, since you're traveling together, it's a great idea to link your two families together in
My Disney Experience so you can easily coordinate plans. Here's how to do it!
- Go to My Disney Experience and click on "My Profile", then "Family & Friends List."
- Select "Add a Guest" and choose to enter their name and age or scan their linking code, which will send them an email inviting them to connect with you.
- Once they accept, you'll be linked and able to make plans together, including dining and Lightning Lane selections.
By linking accounts, even if one person is booking all the dining reservations, the other family will still be able to see them in My Disney Experience!
I hope this answers your question, Sammy-Jo, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation.
