    We will be traveling to Epcot with someone who has a hip injury. We don't have a disabled parking pass becasue this is temporary. How far is the walk from the parking lot to the wheelchair rental? Also, at the end of the day, how do we get her to the car?

    Hi Michelle ~

    I'm sorry to hear about the hip injury. In Georgia, we can get temporary handicapped permits for conditions that are temporary. Perhaps the member of your party can inquire about one from their home state so that you could park in the handicapped parking area. There are blue courtesy wheelchairs in the handicapped parking area that assist Guests to and from the entrance of the theme parks but they are not permitted inside the parks.

    There are trams that will take you from the parking lot to the front entrance of Epcot. You could explain to the Cast Member directing you in the parking lot about the hip injury and perhaps they will allow you to park in a space near the loading area for the tram. At night, the trams will also take you back to the parking lot.

    Once you are at the front of Epcot, the wheelchair rental location is not far from the front entrance. If you are looking at Spaceship Earth, you will find the rental location near the left side of it.

    You could drop off the member of your party and then park. The Cast Member at the Auto Plaza will direct you to the drop off area. This area will be a little further from the entrance than the drop off area for the trams.

    If you are visiting for more than a day, you may want to consider renting a wheelchair you can use outside the parks. There are several local private companies that offer wheelchair and ECV rentals including:

    * ScooterBug
    * CARE Scooter Rentals
    * Buena Visa Scooter Rentals
    * Best Price Mobility
    * Apple Scooter

    You can find the numbers for these companies at the bottom of the Wheelchair Rentals link on the Disney Website.

    Please feel free to visit with all of your planning questions. We are hEAR to help!

    Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
