Hello Kevin,
Choosing a resort at Walt Disney World is one of the most important steps in the planning process, so I hope to offer some great suggestions for you.
My first recommendation would be
Disney's Wilderness Lodge. It is one of my absolute favorite resorts not only for its superb location, but also for the rustic decor and amazing restaurants. This deluxe resort is a quick boat ride from Magic Kingdom and about a 20-25 minute bus ride to Disney's Hollywood Studios. The theming is great for boys as it is fashioned after the National Park Service Lodges of the Pacific Northwest. The pool is adjacent to Fire Rock Geyser that goes off on the hour and certainly a site to see. Another must-do at this resort is a meal at Whispering Canyon Cafe. This table service restaurant serves some of the most delicious, not to mention hearty, food on property. In addition to the great food, the fun and interactive cast members make this a meal to remember with hobby horse races and comical interaction. This is also one of the few resorts on property to offer rooms with bunk beds, which might be fun for your boys.
If that resort is a little beyond your budget, another great alternative would be a family suite at
Art of Animation Resort. This fairly new addition to the resort line up offers some great perks such as the family suites and over the top, larger than life theming of movies like Cars, Lion King, and Finding Nemo. While this resort is a bit further from Magic Kingdom (about 20-25 min by bus), it is a little closer to Hollywood Studios (approximately 15-18 minutes by bus).
I hope these can offer some fun choices for your to consider. Feel free to stop back by with more questions as they come up in your planning.
