    I am traveling with an elderly person, and he has a cane with an attached folding seat. Is this allowed inside the parks? What about tripod camping stools?

    Hi there, Elizabeth! Welcome to planDisney, and thanks so much for stopping by with a question for us. 

    It is so nice to hEAR that you are looking out for all the Guests traveling with you, helping to keep them safe and comfortable! Mobility is important when you visit Walt Disney World, as a visit to the Theme Parks often means more steps and more time on your feet than almost any other activity. When it comes to permitted and prohibited items within the Disney Parks, the Walt Disney World Property Rules lay this out very clearly. I would not recommend that you attempt to bring in a cane with folding seats or a camping stool, as folding chairs and devices that could be unstable and tip over easily are not allowed. However, you can use walkers, and many recommend one with a seat, such as the Rollator. This way, your Guest has mobility assistance plus a sturdy place to sit whenever needed. Also, if your Guest would benefit from a Disability Access Service (DAS) pass, simply visit Guest Services upon your first visit to the Theme Parks. This will allow him/her plus up to 6 Guests to limit wait times in long lines and excessive standing. There is also always the option of using an ECV to ride around the Parks. Many people who may not use them regularly take advantage of them while visiting the Theme Parks.
