I will be traveling to DW Right after thanksgiving. Trying to decide where to stay. Top two are fort wilderness lodge or the grand Floridian. What do you recommend for the Decor and convienience? I have a 6 and 3 year old. Or do you prefer another resort?

    Hello Brandy!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I recommend staying at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and here are my top reasons why:

You are most traveling with little using strollers, so it is very convenient to be on the monorail line. You can roll your strollers or double stroller on board. You are a quick ride away from Magic Kingdom Park and amazing dining opportunities at the other Disney Resort hotels on the monorail line. Take a second monorail and you will find yourself at Epcot in no time, and if you wish to visit Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you can use bus transportation. Being so close to Magic Kingdom Park is definitely a plus for me, as this is my 6-year-old favorite theme park and where most beloved attractions for children are located.

Since you are coming right after Thanksgiving, chances are the Christmas decorations will already be up! I cannot describe the feeling of walking into this iconic Disney Resort hotel and looking at their breathtaking Christmas tree. How about that sweet holiday smell in the air? If your nose can pick that up then it means their magestic gingerbread house is ready and waiting for you in the lobby!

Dining opportunities are also delicious and my daughter’s favorites are character breakfast and dinner at 1900 Park Fare, and Disney’s Perfectly Princess Tea. The pools are also wonderful, and parents can take time to relax and indulge in deluxe spa treatments at Senses – A Disney Spa at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

Brandy, I hope this helps you while planning, and don’t forget that tickets to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party are already available for purchase. Your little ones are going to love it!

    Best magical wishes,
    Thiana
