Hi there Lisa!
I know it's very hard to get around the parks even if you are in tip top form but when you have members of your family which aren't mobile enough it's even harder. My dad has had to be in a wheelchair the last two visits since he has a problem walking long distances. If your parents are not going to be riding in a chair the best bet for them would be to make sure to "camp out" on one of the sitting areas in the Hub or on Main Street U.S.A. Then, when the parade begins they can be ready to watch it.
Another option would be for them to actually use wheelchairs. There are designate viewing areas where they can park and will have great views of the parade. Thanks so much for asking the Moms Panel! I hope this information helps you with your planning and if you have more questions, please ask away, we are always here to help! Have a Magical Time at the Walt Disney World Resort!
