We are traveling to DW for the first time with our 2 little ones, 3 and 6, and have decided on a standard room at AKL! In your estimation what is the best standard room at AKL? Are some trails really better than others? Thanks!!

Thanks for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge has such a distinctive theme, and the Resort is simply amazing.   Three different savannas surround the Lodge.   You might appreciate knowing that not all the savannas house the same animals.  The giraffe is the only animal found on all three savannas.   There are a few public viewing areas in the resort where the animals can be seen.

The Standard View rooms at  Animal Kingdom Lodge are located on floors 1 through 4.    The "best" location is really based on what your preferences are within the resort.   Do you want to be close to lobby, or more removed from the action in a quieter spot?  Is it important that you are close to Mara (food court)?  When you book your room, call (407) WDW-STAY and make your request known.  Although requests are no guaranteed, Disney will do it's best to accommodate them.

In the meantime, take a look at this information for Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge.  The information here may help you decide what areas you'd prefer to be near.

I wish you a MAGICAL vacation, Melissa!
