Traveling to DW in Feb 2010, we have it narrowed down to The Grand Floridan or the Polynesian. We will be traveling with 2 kids(7 & 5). Are there any advantages to staying at one or the other resort? We chose these b/c of the monirail conveince.

Hello Nicole!  What a great dilemma to have!  The good news is you will have a blast no matter which of the two resorts you choose.  I have stayed at both and thoroughly enjoyed my vacations at both.  I have a couple thoughts that may help you make your decision.

When staying at the Polynesian, you have the option of walking to the Transportation and Ticket Center.  This may come in handy if you want to head to Epcot and bypass the resort monorail.

If you plan on doing laundry, I find the facilities at the Poly to be much more convenient.  Unless it  has changed recently, the Grand Floridian only has two washer/dryers per building and it was hard to find them empty.

Will you have a car?  The self parking at the Poly is much better.  When we had our car, we literally had to park across the street from the Grand Floridian.

The food court at the Poly is also bigger and I'm not sure if you will find this a pro or a con but the arcade at the Grand is located in the same room as the food court.

If you have any follow-up questions for us, please let us know and we'll help in any way we can.  Good luck with your decision!  Diane
