Ahoy, Jill!
It's a well-known fact to all my friends and family that I'm a huge Disney fan, and that I like to visit the theme parks or sail with Disney Cruise Line as often as I can. Because of that, on special occasions, I always receive Disney Gift Cards as gifts! Everyone knows that a Disney Gift Card, in my hands, will never get put in a drawer and go unused. (Don't we all have a drawer like that?)
Disney Cruise Line's ships operate on a cashless system. When you complete your Online Check-In, you'll be asked to provide a valid credit card for your stateroom charges. All onboard purchases will be made using your Key to the World Card, which will be issued to you when you check in at the port. Whether you're purchasing souvenirs in the onboard shops, enjoying a specialty coffee, or buying treats to enjoy in the Buena Vista Theatre while you watch a first-run movie, you'll present your Key to the World to have these items charged to your stateroom account.
Disney Gift Cards can be used to apply funds to offset your stateroom charges, which is what we always do! With a quick visit to the Guest Services Desk in the lobby, gift cards can be applied to your stateroom account. To streamline the process, I typically combine all my Disney Gift Card balances to one card by visiting
disneygiftcard.com. If you're a first-time guest to the site, you'll need to register before entering gift card information. Once registered, you can manage your card balances and transfer all of your funds to one card. Moms Panel Tip: Make sure to hang on to your gift card after visiting Guest Services - any unused funds will be put back on the card at the end of your sailing.
I hope this helps with your planning and budgeting for your upcoming vacation on the gorgeous
