Hi, We will be traveling down to on August 15th-22nd. Couple of questions: How is the weather down there that time of year and also what types of crowds are down there at that time in August. Thanks.

    Hi Dollie,

My family almost always visits Disney World during August, while schools are out in my neck of the woods.  The weather is generally quite predictable during our trips.  It is hot.  There's no getting around it.  Average highs are in the 90s, and it can be quite humid.  In addition, there is very often a passing afternoon rain storm.  My family doesn't mind the heat, and we love spending our afternoons at the resort pool cooling off after a morning in the park.  We often return to the parks in the evening after the sun goes down and it's a bit cooler.  In addition, August is a wonderful month to take advantage of Disney's fabulous water parks, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon.  It's hard to be hot when you are soaking wet!  As for crowds, by the end of August, the summer crowds tend to thin out a bit, as many schools across the country are already back in session.  We generally find the late August crowds to be moderate, and quite manageable.

    Have a wonderful visit!
