Hi, Brenda!
I’m glad you’re planning a visit to “The Happiest Place on Earth” this holiday season! I love that time of year because of the festive decorations, entertainment and special treats at Disney Parks. My favorite dessert at the Disneyland Resort is the Yule Log cake at Plaza Inn restaurant on Main Street, U.S.A., which is only available during the holidays. It’s an indulgent chocolate and cream swirl cake with a layer of ganache that’s decorated to look like wood bark.
Consider going on one of the guided tours, especially if anyone is visiting for the first time. There are several to choose from, and the Walk in Walt’s Disneyland Footsteps Guided Tour that is currently offered even includes an exclusive peek at Walt’s original apartment in Town Square! Call (714) 781-TOUR (8687) to reserve your spot up to one month in advance. I also recommend seeing “Mickey and the Magical Map,” a brand new live show that recently debuted at Fantasyland Theatre. It’s a show unlike any other and combines innovative technology with favorite Disney characters and songs.
The dining plans available at the Disneyland Resort are based on a pre-paid meal voucher system that is really designed more for convenience than savings. The meal or snack vouchers are redeemable at cafes, snack spots and restaurants throughout the Disneyland Resort. The plans can actually cost more than buying meals outright because change isn’t given when the price of menu items is less than what the voucher is worth. Club-Level (concierge) rooms include various amenities like access to an exclusive lounge featuring a continental breakfast bar, sodas and snacks throughout the day, after-dinner desserts, and more.
I hope this helps, Brenda. Please write back with more questions as you continue to plan your pixie-dusted vacation!
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
