I suggest first reviewing the list of attractions and
height requirements in each park to get a better idea of what might interest your family. For example,
Star Wars fans will want to explore every inch of
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in
Disneyland Park, while Cars fans will love
Radiator Springs Racers and
Cars Land in
Disney California Adventure Park. Your kids may also want to join in on the fun by listing their "must-ride" attractions! My kids did that last week when we only had one day in the parks. I prioritized their list, and then everything else was a bonus!
For my family, I would spend two days in Disneyland Park and the other day in California Adventure Park. I have a child in elementary school and another in middle school, and I think Disneyland Park offers the best mix of attractions for all ages. However, my oldest kiddo's favorite attractions are the
Incredicoaster and
Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT!, both of which are in California Adventure Park. So, it's hard to know!
Also, keep in mind that California Adventure Park tends to close earlier than Disneyland Park, which may be a good option on your last day if you can't stay that late. Additionally, the
Hours & Events Calendar will be a good source of information about activities in each park. With the
Holidays at Disneyland kicking off on November 13, 2026, there will be plenty of festive magic to experience! Disneyland Park usually goes all out with holiday decorations, plus Haunted Mansion Holiday and "it's a small world" Holiday can't be missed.
If your youngest child doesn't meet the height requirements for some attractions, make sure to take advantage of
Rider Switch. This service allows adult Guests to take turns with kids who are unable to ride. We used it all of the time when my kids were young!
