Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Deborah!
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) is a blast! I personally think its worth the money & I'd put it on my must do list.
Its a special ticketed event so the Magic Kingdom (MK) is not as crowded which shortens lines & makes it easier to maneuver the park. But I'd make my main focus the special events available only during MNSSHP. Everyone (including adults) is encouraged but not required to dress up. You'll be boarding rides so keep that in mind when selecting costumes & wear comfortable shoes.
MK will be decked out in cool Halloween decorations. When you enter, pick up a MNSSHP Guide Map & a Trick-or-Treat bag (or bring your own). Here are some highlights that take place only during MNSSHP:
* Trick-or-Treat locations throughout the park (they will be shown on the Guide Map)
* Special Character Meet & Greets (often unique ones only seen during special events)
* Mickey's "Boo-to-You" Halloween Parade (its easier to get a good spot for the 2nd parade)
* Happy HalloWishes fireworks
* Villains' Dance Mix & Mingle
There are also character dance parties. Not every attraction is open during MNSSHP but the most popular ones will be - check the Guide Map for a list.
Last year, tickets went on sale for the 2012 dates on May 1, 2012 so we may see an announcement any day now. Keep your eyes on the
Disney Parks Blog for an announcement. If you're on twitter, be sure to follow @DisneyParks and @WaltDisneyWorld. You may want to look out for #MNSSHP on twitter as well.
Please feel free to visit with any other questions. Wishing you minnie spooktacular memories :-) Allison
