We are traveling to Disney world in September. We will be flying. We are spending a week at Disney world then would like to rent a car to travel to see friends. Can we rent a car on property or how do we go about renting a car.

    Rochelle:

There are two places on Disney property where you can rent a car: the Dolphin hotel and the Car Care Center near the entrance to the Magic Kingdom.  National and Alamo service both sites.

National/Alamo at the Car Care Center

    Phone:  (407) 824-3470
    Hours:  Monday through Friday: 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday/Sunday: 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

    National/Alamo Desk
    Disney Dolphin Resort
    1500 Epcot Resort Blvd
    Orlando , FL 32830
    Phone: (407) 934-4930
    Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day

Two weeks ago, I returned a car I was using to the Car Care Center, simply because its hours were longer, and it has its own shuttle that will take you to any park or resort on property.  (They'll also pick you up at your resort.)  Just call and schedule your pick-up.  Keep in mind that when you return your car, the Car Care Center is a little tricky to find, as you go through the gates to the Magic Kingdom and then have to get over into the far left lane to continue on the parkway to the Car Care Center.  My advice: go through the lane that's to the far left as you approach the MK gate.

FYI: www.mousesavers.com has a lot of helpful info on not only discounts for National and Alamo but helpful  information on renting cars in general.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Whitney, Mississippi

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
