Hi Kelly!
I love taking long weekend trips to Walt Disney World. Quick Disney getaways have been great for my family to recharge our batteries.
Even though my children are a little younger than yours, my wife and I took our niece on a number of Disney vacations when she was their ages. From those experiences with her, I have three tips that might help:
Tip #1: Let your daughters pick their daily "must-do's." Help them to be reasonable, so maybe 2 "must-do's" for each of them on Friday and Sunday and 3-4 "must-do's" on Saturday. Having a reasonable agenda will allow enough cushion for spontaneous adventures that may pop up. When we let our niece pick the things she wanted to do each day, it was such a thrill for her.
Tip #2: Try to experience at least one new attraction/show/restaurant that you all have not yet experienced. (Yep, I lump dining in with attractions!) On quick Disney getaways, it's natural to want to hit your absolute favorite attractions. When I've zeroed-in on a new experience, it makes those getaways even more exciting.
Tip #3: Plan a surprise. As you can imagine, surprises can come in all shapes and sizes at Walt Disney World. Maybe it can be a special dining experience (like lunch at Be Our Guest restaurant), or
an in-room celebration from Disney Floral & Gifts, or even giving your daughters their own
personalized Disney Gift Card so they can splurge on some fun souvenirs.
I hope that helps! If you should have any other last-minute planning questions before your trip, please feel free to write back and I'll be happy to help in any way that I can.
Have fun!
Best regards,
Derek
