We will be traveling to Disney World in February 2024 with two sets of parents both celebrating their 50th wedding anniversaries who also honeymooned there. Do you have any special surprise recommendations we would plan for them during the trip?

    Hello there, Donna!

Your question brought tears to my eyes. 50 years is an amazing accomplishment. I can only imagine what a special occasion and milestone this will be for your family. I’d be happy to offer a few suggestions to make your celebration extra magical at the Walt Disney World Resort.

First, do you have any details about what your parents did during their honeymoon at the Walt Disney World Resort? It would be super special to have them stay at the same Disney Resort hotel or dine at a Signature Dining location that they ate at during their honeymoon.

I personally think you can have a magical day by simply visiting the theme parks and picking up a celebration pin from Guest Services or select gift shops when you enter any of the four theme parks, purchasing some wedding ears, or having a specialty Mickey Mouse celebration cake added to any of the participating table-service restaurant reservations at the Resort.

If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind experience for your parents, I recommend that you review the Enchanting Extras Collection list, which offers unique tours, nature experiences, adventures in dining, spectacular sweet spots, rest & recreation, special occasions, and seasonal events. How adorable would it be to recreate old photos from their honeymoon with a Capture Your Moment photo session (available at Magic Kingdom Park (Main Street, U.S.A. or Fantasyland), EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom)? Alternatively, your family can experience a perfect view of the Happily Ever After fireworks and delicious desserts with a Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties: Post-Party. The extra space you have for viewing the fireworks creates a special moment for your family.

Last but not least, you could treat your parents to a fabulous signature dining experience at Narcoossee’s or Victoria & Albert’s. Narcoossee's features spectacular panoramic waterfront views, and sometimes you can see the Electrical Water Pageant go by if you time your meal right. Victoria & Albert’s is a luxurious dining experience that has received many awards.

No matter what you choose to do, I know your family will have the most memorable vacation celebrating your parents.

May the magic be with you!
