We will be traveling to Disney World with a disabled Veteran he is not 100 percent I realize the 2022 Veterans discounts have not been released but will we be eligible for discount tickets? Also how are they purchased?

    Hi Vicki! Welcome to planDisney.

Please express my gratitude to your friend for his service to our country. As a military spouse, I understand the sacrifices our veterans and their loved ones make, and I am happy to hear you'll be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort together next year.

As you note, we're still waiting for an announcement about military discounts for theme park tickets and resort hotel rooms for 2022. We won't know what the eligibility requirements, terms, and conditions are for that discount until it is released, and it's not a guarantee that there will be a military promotion for next year. My advice is to keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog and the Special Offers webpage for an announcement - I'm hoping it will come soon!

Based on how the Military Promotional Theme Park Ticket and Disney Resorts Collection hotel discounts have worked for the past several years, your friend would have to be a 100% disabled, service-connected veteran with a DAVPRM standing. If he is retired with a DD Form 2 or retiree ID card, he will also qualify for these discounted tickets. Essentially, Disney's Cast Members are looking for a valid military ID card in order to activate the discount. The Military Promotional Theme Park Tickets can be purchased from your local base ticket office and are then activated when you arrive at Walt Disney World and show a valid and active military ID. Please note that the eligibility for these discounts is set by the Department of Defense.

If your friend does not meet the eligibility requirements noted above, I recommend contacting Shades of Green to ask if there are other offers that apply to him. Shades of Green is the resort hotel on Walt Disney World property for military members. Their staff members are very knowledgeable about military discounts and will be happy to help; I've always had great experiences with them. Shades of Green also sells military-discounted theme park tickets via email, so please take a look at that option on their website.

Vicki, if your friend requires any accommodations as a result of his disability, please take a look at the Disability Services information. Walt Disney World's Cast Members make every effort to assist Guests with cognitive and mobility disabilities, and I hope you find that information helpful.

I hope this helps! As you continue to plan your visit, please feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any further questions. Have so much fun planning and dreaming, and we will see you real soon!

    Wishing you much magic,
    Robyn
