We will be traveling to Disney World at the beginning of June, and we can't wait! However, I am a little nervous about healthy options while eating at the parks. Do you have any suggestions for low-cal/fresh menus that cater to healthy conscious guests?

    Hello, Elizabeth,

I imagine you are in the count-down phase of your June Walt Disney World trip!  When you arrive, you will find many healthful food options throughout the parks and resorts.  In fact, the Disney Parks Blog featured an article about healthful choices at the Magic Kingdom just last year.

In addition to the fresh fruit and veggies that are available throughout the parks and resorts, there are many restaurants that offer delicious and healthful options.  Artist Point, The Boathouse, Boma-Flavors of Africa, California Grill, Citricos, Coral Reef Restaurant, Jiko-The Cooking Place, Narcoossee's, and The Wave...of American Flavors are just some of the table service restaurants that I'd recommend. And if you don't see anything on the menu that appeals to you, don't hesitate to let your server know that you are hoping for a low calorie option; sometimes the chef can make something that isn't on the menu.

While many of the counter service restaurants do have a lot of temptations, there are typically options on the menu that are both healthier alternatives and lower calories.  To help you know of some possible restaurants before visiting the parks, you can filter the restaurants to narrow down your search by the parks and counter service to see the menus beforehand.

I'd also encourage you to visit www.disneyfoodblog.com and do a search for healthy; this will result in a multitude of additional helpful articles to read about healthy dining at Disney.

Wishing you a wonderful trip!  -Kara
