Ahoy Margo!
I’m thrilled that you will be setting sail for
Alaska this summer! The
Disney Wonder will be your home base as you explore amazing Alaska and all its ports. Pack those binoculars and cameras because the wildlife and scenery are truly awe-inspiring!
Swimming can definitely be in the cards thanks to the fact that the pools are heated when the outside temperature dips below 75. The weather can vary greatly in Alaska, but it also just might surprise you: on our day in Skagway, the temperature topped out at 82 degrees in the beginning of June! The
Aqualab containing the Twist ‘n’ Spout waterslide will also be open for those wanting to make a splash while surrounded by snow-capped mountains and glaciers. While I was less inclined to get wet, my kiddos sure were game for it. Keep in mind that kids will say they are not cold even when their lips are turning blue!
Even though you won’t BE frozen on your cruise, you can SEE
Frozen, A Musical Spectacular in the Walt Disney Theatre. With special effects and staging wonders, this Frozen stage show is definitely worth melting for! Another can’t miss experience on select Disney Wonder sailings is the
Frozen deck party. Get ready to “let it go” singing and dancing during the “Freezing the Night Away With Anna, Elsa and Friends” show.
Last but not least, packing will be smooth sailing if you follow this
Alaska packing list. I found this list super helpful in not forgetting key items that I’m normally not used to packing when I sail to the Bahamas or the Caribbean like jackets, gloves, and binoculars.
Cruise back by the Disney Parks Moms Panel as you continue to finalize your plans. Have a WONDERful adventure at sea in Alaska!
Happy Sailing!
