Traveling to Disney this weekend with grandparents and kids (6&2.5). Thinking of going to Boardwalk area our first night and we did not make an ADR. We were not going to use the DDP that night. What are our options and what will wait times be like @5pm

    Hi Katharine!

This weekend will be very crowded at Walt Disney World.  It's in the top 10% of busiest days of the year at the resort.  I really recommend making an Advanced Dining Reservation in the Boardwalk area.  Great restaurants include:
    • Flying Fish Cafe at the Boardwalk
    • Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club
    • Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club
    • Big River Grille at the Boardwalk

You can try walking in to one of those restaurants, but it could be a very long wait.  They could also say they are not accepting any "walk ins", though that typically only happens during the extremely busy holiday periods.

There are also great restaurants at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin hotels which are a short walk away from the Boardwalk. When I need a place to go, but I don't have a reservation I generally head over there; you can usually get seated as a "walk up".  Todd English's Bluezoo is my favorite restaurant at the Swan and Dolphin.

I hope this helps!  Write back if you have any more questions!
