Welcome to Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jim!
Wow, what a wonderful plan you have, taking your nephews to
Walt Disney World while their mom is deployed overseas in the Army! You are a great uncle!
I called Walt Disney World to see what your options are, and have some information that I hope will prove useful. First, to
purchase any sort of military discounted ticket, military discounted resort stay or package, an individual must be 18 years of age or older and possess military ID.
That being said, because you used the word "utilize", I thought that perhaps you already
have those tickets, and are looking to
use them with your nephews. If that is the case, there may be a way for you use these tickets while the boys' mom is deployed.
In either case, there are two venues I suggest pursuing: first, contact their mom's military base and ask about rules and stipulations for benefits for children whose parents are deployed. They may be able to advise you on your current situation. Secondly, you can contact Shades of Green, which serves members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families, and ask them about documentation that may be needed for utilization of their military discounts. You may reach Shades of Green by calling (407) 824-3400, or by going to their website, www.shadesofgreen.org.
Please be sure to thank the boys' mom for her service, from every one of us at Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jim. Thank you, too, for keeping her boys safe and happy until you can all visit Walt Disney World
together.
Send more questions as you think of them, too; we love to help!
