We are traveling to disney from Tuesday 1/29/13 arriving late morning til Sunday 2/3/13 leaving late morning with 2 adults and a 5 and 7 year old. Wondered what your suggestion is for itinerary would be and what to expect for weather/clothes? Thanks!

    Hi Kelli!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.

Central Florida can be very unpredictable weather-wise in late January / early February.  On some days it can be relatively cold requiring a jacket (and maybe even a hat and gloves in the evening) and on other days one can walk around comfortably during the day in a t-shirt and shorts.  You will definitely want to wear clothes in layers so that you can add or remove clothing as necessary!

Itinerary-wise, until Friday of your trip, the crowds will be very small if this coming year is like recent past years.  It will start to get crowded on Friday and stay that way until Sunday, but the crowd level will be about medium.  I would suggest saving Disney's Animal Kingdom for Saturday or Sunday when the parks will be more crowded.  Other than that, I think I would plan a trip around what Table Service dining reservations I could get because of the low crowd levels expected.  In other words, I don't think it is is important to schedule around anticipated crowds.  The other tip is, with young children, I suggest visiting Epcot before visiting the Magic Kingdom.  That is because Epcot is sometimes considered to be the least "kid friendly" of the parks and thus I recommend that families with young children go there first before the kids get a taste of the Magic Kingdom.

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
