We will be traveling to Disney soon. My mother who lives in Florida wants to join us for 1 night. Is that something I can to at check-in? Also, should I buy her park ticket ahead or can she purchase since she is a Florida resident?

    Hi Colleen,

How fun that you can combine a Walt Disney World vacation with a visit with your mother. You should be able to add her to your reservation for one night when you arrive as long as her presence does not exceed the maximum capacity of your room. Please note that there is a minimal charge for a third adult in a room (usually $15-$25 depending on the resort), so that may apply in your situation.

The main reason to buy her ticket in advance would be to schedule FastPass+ choices for her that correspond with yours. You can add her to your My Disney Experience account and link her tickets to yours. There is no Florida resident discount for a one-day or two-day ticket, so that isn't a factor if she isn't staying at least three days.

Make sure, too, that you add her to any advanced dining reservations you have for her time with you. It is often possible to add an additional person at the restaurant, but it's easier to do it in advance.

Thanks for dropping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Colleen. Please let us know if we can answer any other questions for you as your vacation nears. It's not long now. Enjoy!
