Hello, Patty! Thanks so much for visiting planDisney with this royally wonderful question. Just like Tinkerbell, I'm here to help with a bit of faith, trust, and pixie dust!
Although my princesses are now in high school, some of my most favorite
Walt Disney World Resort memories from their younger days were made at the
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. This is such a special experience for princesses and knights between the ages of 3 and 13 to have a royal makeover at the hands of some of the Fairy Godmother's most talented Apprentices. The setting inside of Cinderella Castle at
Magic Kingdom Park just adds to the fun!
My oldest was (and still is!) on the shy side, and when I planned her first visit to the Boutique just after her 4th birthday, I was a bit nervous about how she would do. To help prepare her for the magical appointment, we talked about what to expect at the Boutique and looked at pictures online. We bought a princess dress from our local Disney Store for her visit, which ensured that she wouldn't be disappointed as dresses can't be reserved in advance at the Boutique.
I found the Boutique to be quite calm, and the Apprentices are simply amazing with the children they work with. They are wonderful about explaining everything that they are doing and meeting their princess or knight where they are--shy, outgoing (I have one of those, too!), or otherwise. My oldest was totally enthralled from start to finish, and in the photos from that day, she was just delighted with herself!
All this to say, Patty, that I think your daughter (and you!) will have a lovely experience at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique! Allow me to share a few additional tips for your visit:
- Princesses may find that a gown is not ideal for a full day at the Magic Kingdom. I recommend packing a reusable bag to carry her princess wear if she wishes to change. I've also found some great Disney Princess-inspired dresses on Etsy that are super cute and comfortable.
- There are Disney PhotoPass photographers at the Boutique who will capture your entire experience. It is definitely worth investing in Memory Maker so you can have all of these photos!
- Just across the way from the boutique, stop by Princess Fairytale Hall for a royal audience with Tiana, Cinderella, and other princess pals. It's another great photo op!
- For another opportunity to meet some favorite Disney princesses in person (and more pictures!), book a Character Dining meal at Cinderella's Royal Table. My girls still love to visit this restaurant, and it provides some lovely character interactions in perhaps the coolest setting in the Magic Kingdom!
Patty, I hope this information is helpful as you're planning your visit for this fall. It's been a pleasure to help you today--if I can answer any other questions, please
reach out to me directly. Thanks again for visiting planDisney!
Once Upon A Dream...
