Hi! We will be traveling to Disney next week for the first time since the new security measures were put in place. How much time should I allow for security coming from the TTC? It will be me, my husband, and 6 month old son-- his first time!

    Hi Addison!

Your family is going to have a magical time sharing all the experiences with your young son. Traveling with an infant takes extra planning but just don't stress out over the little things and enjoy what you can when you can. I have always taken my children and now my grandchildren when they were quite young and loved taking them back for years after. It has always been rewarding seeing each stage of the children during a Disney visit.

Security  has basically not changed but just moved location. For the Magic Kingdom,  security is now located before you hop on the ferry or monorail making easy access into the park once you arrive. During heavy rush times security can take up to 15-20 minutes but most of the time it is less then 10 minutes. The trip on the ferry or monorail again depends on time of day but is about 15 minutes. Always give yourself more time then you think is necessary especially if you are trying to get to a dining reservation.

Remember that each park has a wonderful Baby Care Center to help make your days easier. They are equipped with supplies and changing areas as well as nursing rooms. They are all air conditioned and comfortable and quiet.

    Have a wonderful vacation!
