I will be traveling to Disney MLK weekend. We have 3 day park hopper tickets and plan to visit each park Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. How should we plan which park to visit based on the increased holiday traffic?

Welcome to planDisney Whitney! Thanks for reaching out with your question. I'm excited to help you! How wonderful that you're planning a trip to Walt Disney World Resort! You’re sure to create some amazing memories at The Most Magical Place on Earth!

To navigate the Martin Luther King Jr. weekend crowds effectively with your park hopper tickets, here's my suggested plan:
    • Friday (January 17, 2025) - Start with EPCOT. EPCOT typically handles crowds well due to its size. Use Lightning Lane options and the Virtual Queue to enjoy the most popular attractions such as Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Remy's Ratatouille Adventure. Park Hop to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in the afternoon/evening. Hollywood Studios may get less busy after dinner as families with young kids leave. Focus on evening attractions or shows like Fantasmic! or explore Galaxy’s Edge.
    • Saturday (January 18, 2025) - Start with Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Animal Kingdom is often less crowded early in the day, especially if you arrive right when the park opens. Prioritize Flight of Passage and Expedition Everest. Park Hop to Magic Kingdom Park. Magic Kingdom will likely be busiest in the afternoon, but you can still enjoy nighttime fireworks (Happily Ever After), which are a must see. Plan your Lightning Lane bookings for headliner rides like Space Mountain or Peter Pan’s Flight.
    • Sunday (January 19, 2025) - Start with Magic Kingdom. As the most iconic park, it’s best to start early to make the most of the morning before crowds build. Park Hop to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios. End your trip at the park you enjoyed most or one with attractions you missed earlier. EPCOT's World Showcase is a relaxing evening option, or Hollywood Studios might be great for a second ride on your favorites like Rise of the Resistance.
    Quick tips:
    • Rope Drop: Arrive at your starting park 30–60 minutes before opening.
    • Take advantage of the Lightning Lane Passes or the Lightning Lane Premier Pass. Secure reservations early to optimize your time.
    • Mobile Order Meals: Use the app for dining to save time.
    • Take Breaks: Consider mid day rest periods at quieter attractions or resorts to avoid peak crowds.
