We will be traveling to Disney in May and it will be our second time staying at Port Orleans French Quarter. Last time I didn’t know about the fishing at Riverside and we’d like to do that a day. Are we able to even though we’re staying at French Quarter?

    Hi Kylee,

Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter
is my favorite Moderate Resort at Walt Disney World! I'm so excited for you that you have the opportunity to stay there for your second time. The more you visit, the more you will want to make Walt Disney World Resort an annual tradition for your family. I have great news for you! The Fishin' Hole at Old Man Island at Disney's Port Orleans Resort—Riverside is available for all Disney guests, regardless of which resort you are staying in. You and your family can fish for perch or bluegill in the fully stocked pond. Individual cane poles are available for rent, or you can opt for the Family Cane Pole Fishing Adventure, which is available for up to 6 people in a party.

Another option is to sign-up for a Guided Fishing Excursion. These exciting adventures include an experienced guide, rod and reel, tackle, artificial and/or live bait, non-alcoholic beverages and more. There is an excursion which departs of Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside (among other locations).

You will want to note that while fishing at Walt Disney World Resort is a lot of fun, it is catch-and-release only. Looks like you'll have to take advantage of one of the numerous delicious dining options for dinner that evening.

    Wishing you magical memories,

    Kaylene
