We will be traveling to Disney in May with 3 children (5 yr boy, 4 yr twin girls). We're staying at the Wilderness cabins, so we can cook most of our meals & have some extra wiggle room. I haven't seen much about the cabins here. What is your opinion

    Hi Allison,

My family loves the cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort.  In fact, we are planning a trip this coming summer to the Fort.  Each cabin sleeps six, and has a separate bedroom with a double bed and bunks and a living room, with a murphy-style bed (it pulls down from the wall).  In addition, the cabins have fully-equipped kitchens (with a refrigerator, oven, microwave and dishwasher) and a separate dining area.  As you suggested, the kitchen enables you to have some meals and/or snacks in your room, and save on concessions in the parks.  Finally, each cabin has a private deck with bbq.  Fort Wilderness resort is a wonderful property with many activities, entertainment options and a great location, only a boat ride away from the Magic Kingdom.  The pools at the resort have just been re-themed and refurbished and look wonderful.  Two of Disney's dinner shows are held at the Fort, including Mickey's Backyard BBQ and the Hoop-De-Doo Revue.  Both are a great way to end a Disney Day.

    Have a great vacation!
