Hi Heather! How excited are you that your vacation is only 6 short days away?1?! Yippee! I'm so happy you will be able to enjoy Walt Disney World Resort through the eyes of your 17 month old!
Great news!
Rider Switch is available! One of you will wait with your kiddo while the other enjoys the attraction. When the 1st adult returns, the other adult can go on the attraction while the 1st enjoys some quality one-on-one time with your precious baby. When you arrive at the attraction, confirm with the Cast Member that Rider Switch is available. The adult waiting will be given a Ride Switch pass and asked to wait in a designated area. After riding the attraction, the 1st Guest will then supervise your kiddo and the 2nd will enter and board without having to wait in the regular queue. Be sure to take great care of the Ride Switch pass as it will have to be presented to the Cast Member for the 2nd Guest to ride. When my kiddos were younger, we loved Rider Switch. It was a great time for my youngsters to grab a snack or enjoy a quick nap!
To help with your planning, I have included a list of attractions currently offering Rider Switch:
Magic Kingdom: The Barnstormer, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Stitch's Great Escape, and Tomorrowland Speedway
Epcot: Frozen Ever After, Mission: SPACE, Soarin', and Test Track
Disney's Hollywood Studios: Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, Star Tours - The Adventure Continues, and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park: Avatar Flight of Passage, DINOSAUR, Expedition Everest, Kali River Rapids, and Primeval Whirl
Thanks so much for your question and please let me know if you need any other tips or advice as you plan your magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
