We are traveling to Disney with a large party (14) and was wanting some advice on booking dining reservations. We REALLY want to go to Space 220, but I see the seating is geared for parties of 4 or 6. Should I try for 3 separate parties of 6-6-4 or all 14?

Hiya Mindee - welcome to planDisney!

I'm so glad you stopped by with your question about making advance dining reservations! I love to eat, and the amazing food at Walt Disney World Resort is always one of the highlights of my vacations. I recently enjoyed lunch at Space 220 and thought it was a really fun experience!

Based on your arrival date, it looks like your 60-day advance booking window might start tomorrow! You can make reservations online, on the phone by calling 407-939-3463, or in the My Disney Experience Mobile App. The phone lines typically open at around 7 a.m. Disney time, and reservations typically go live a bit before 6 a.m. online and in the app.

When I'm planning for larger groups, I usually like to speak to a Cast Member on the phone to help me figure out how to best accommodate our crew, but there is no harm in starting the morning early and seeing what you can get. When I recently dined at Space 220, I did see one party of at least 8 Guests seated near us, so you aren't necessarily limited to selecting party sizes that match the standard table capacities. In my experience, it's always easier to get a couple of smaller reservations than one big one, so you might try for all 14, or perhaps some other combination of smaller parties.

If there aren't reservations available, keep diligently checking - other Guests' plans change all the time, and when someone cancels their reservation it becomes available for others like you! I find this usually happens a lot more in the days leading up to my trip. It's also a good idea to have a backup reservation for the day you're planning to visit EPCOT, just in case. For a larger group, Biergarten Restaurant in the Germany Pavilion and San Angel Inn Restaurante in the Mexico Pavilion are both good options. You can also explore all the Outdoor Kitchens cooking up delicious bites as part of the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival!

Last but not least, if you do find yourself at EPCOT without a Space 220 reservation, don't hesitate to visit the restaurant directly to see what they might have available. They also offer Lounge seating, so you never know what kind of gravity- and reservation-defying magic they may be able to put together so at least some of your crew can have an out-of-this-world dining experience!

I hope this information is helpful as you get ready for your upcoming vacation! Please let me know if any other questions pop up that I can help with.
