Welcome to planDisney, Melissa!
Well, that sounds like one fantastic trip you have coming up in 2023! The Most Magical Place on Earth is a "practically perfect" place to celebrate life's milestones, whether it be anniversaries, engagements, weddings, birthdays, or graduations. And what better way to celebrate than a delicious meal?
There are so many wonderful places to eat at Walt Disney World Resort, Melissa. However, let me offer my top restaurants for large groups:
Whispering Canyon Café
The food and atmosphere of this restaurant are fantastic. Who doesn't like country-style BBQ? There's a delicious smoked mustard-barbecued beef brisket that has me salivating just thinking about it. And since you'll be visiting around the Fourth of July, why not celebrate with an all-American classic dessert? The Granny Smith apple pie will bring patriotic tears to your eyes and happiness to your taste buds. One of the things I like about this restaurant is the great views you get of the lobby at Disney's Wildnerness Lodge.
Boma - Flavors of Africa
Located at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, this is one of my favorite restaurants on property. It resembles a lively African marketplace and has a wonderful variety of family-friendly foods. It has both African cuisine and American cuisine and therefore can accommodate the pickiest of eaters. You can actually watch the chefs prepare the food, which is really cool. I'm a big fan of the Senagalase Yassa-style Salmon and Oak Roast Pork Ribs. Before or after dinner, you can even head outside and see the animals!
‘Ohana
The Polynesian-theming and close proximity to Magic Kingdom Park make this a great option. If your party would enjoy Hawaiian-flavored food, like Wood-fire Grilled Teriyaki Beef, Spicy Peel-n-Eat Shrimp, and Grilled Chicken with Polynesian-inspired Chimichurri Sauce, then you can't go wrong with 'Ohana. If you time it right, you could even watch Disney Enchantment over Seven Seas Lagoon.
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue
Dinner and show, anyone? If you can get a reservation, this would be my top pick. This classic restaurant hasn't changed much since 1974. As Cogsworth says, “If it’s not Baroque, don’t fix it.” In between hilarious skits and songs, you can feast on all-you-care-to-enjoy fried chicken and smoked BBQ ribs. And in the words of Abuela from Encanto, "The Magic is strong and so are the drinks!" The adults in your party will be able to enjoy unlimited draft beer, wine, and sangria.
So that's my two cents, Melissa. I hope you and your group have the most magical visit. Thanks for stopping by planDisney.
Bon appetit!
Mike
