Why hello there Kelsey and welcome to planDisney!
I'm glad to be able to answer this for you as this was certainly something that I had at the front of my mind when I was planning my
Disney Fairy Tale Wedding this past January. At the time, I had asked the Cast Members how long the Christmas decorations would remain up for because as much as we enjoyed
celebrating the holidays at Walt Disney World Resort, my husband and I weren't keen on having Christmas-themed wedding photos. Each of the Cast Members that I spoke with leading up to the big day weren't able to provide a clearer date beyond "the first week of January", which makes sense considering there hasn't always been a concrete date in the past and the Resort Hotels tend to transform back at a different rate compared to the Theme Parks, but here's what we experienced this year:
- When we returned again at the end of the week on the 13th of January, we found Magic Kingdom Park to be completely transformed; our wedding guests were absolutely in awe and remarked about how different it was within a matter of days!
Based on our experience over the past few years it would make sense to estimate the days between the
Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend and the start of the
EPCOT International Festival of the Arts as a good bet for when the crews of Cast Members head in to make these major transformations across the Theme Parks. That said, these things are always subject to change without prior notice, but there's still a fairly high chance that you'll still encounter decorations during your visit. Hope this helped you out Kelsey, we look forward to seeing you
back at planDisney again for more answers ahead of your next adventure!
Here's to a visit full of the remaining holiday cheer into the New Year!
