We'll be traveling to Disney in early Dec with our 7yr old son and 4yr old daughter. First trip! We've decided to stay at the Wilderness Lodge and I'm torn between staying in a woods-view room w/ 2 queen beds or going for the Villa studio. Thoughts?

    Hi Brenda,

I squealed with excitement when I found your question today!  Disney's Wilderness Lodge is my absolute favorite place to stay while vacationing at Walt Disney World, and there's no more magical time to visit this resort than December, when it is decked out in all of its holiday glory.  Prepare yourself to be enchanted!

Between the two room choices you mention, I'd be inclined to pick the room with two queen-size beds in the main lodge rather than the studio in the villas portion of the resort.  Although the sleeper sofas in the villas' studios are quite comfortable, nothing beats the comfort of a bed with a traditional mattress.  Rooms in the main lodge also afford you closer proximity to the Roaring Fork snack bar and Silver Creek Springs Pool.  I have also found that the woods-view rooms in the main lodge are often less expensive than the deluxe studios.  That's another argument in favor of a room in the main lodge.

If you opt for a woods-view room and don't mind a little extra walking from the lobby to your room, ask for a room at the end of one of the two main wings at the lodge.  We had a room in this category when we took our son for his first trip and, honestly, I've never stayed in a room with a better view at Walt Disney World.  We had a view of the boat dock, Bay Lake, and Fire Rock Geyser.  I couldn't believe this wasn't a room with a premium view.  If you add a request for this room location to your reservation now, the Cast Members who make room assignments will make every effort to honor your request.

Wishing you a vacation sprinkled with extra pixie dust!
