Traveling to Disney during Christmas and New Year. I am staying on property. I have heard that the Magic Kingdom can fill up on Christmas day but if you are staying on property they have to let you in?? Wanted to arrive in the afternoon.....

    Hi Vikki,

You are traveling to Disney during my most favorite time of year!  All of Walt Disney World is decorated beautifully and everyone is in a very festive spirit!

Magic Kingdom gets very full on Christmas day for a few reasons.  Of course, where else would you want to be to celebrate such a magical day?  The most magical place on Earth!  The second reason?  People often think that the televised Disney Christmas Parade is held that day.  It' isn't.  It's prerecorded.

You've got the right idea about getting there in the afternoon.  While still pretty full, the crowds have thinned a bit and I don't think you'll have a problem getting in.

Have a wonderful time on your vacation!

Magic Kingdom still takes my breath away, but my favorite place to be is on a Disney ship looking at the horizon and breathing in that crisp, clean ocean air!  I love planning Disney vacations for others and making sure it's more than they dreamed. Learn More About Marisol
