Hi Bhanu!
I cannot wait for you to have a DREAM vacation in the
Bahamas with your pirate crew! Nassau and Castaway Cay have beautiful beaches, friendly people, and a fabulous tropical climate. Can you believe you will be there in a few weeks?
As far as February weather conditions, the Islands of the Bahamas report that average February temperatures in Nassau range from 62 to 78 degrees. But the first few months of the year can be on the windy side, so that may make for choppy waters. I’d suggest packing some Bonine just in case any pirates-in-training experience motion sickness. The
Health Center onboard also carries over-the-counter medications precisely for occasions like this. Also consider securing captain hats and glasses with straps so they don’t blow overboard.
With
Castaway Cay being such a popular destination, Disney Cruise Line understands how highly anticipated that special day in paradise is to Guests. Captain Mickey is all about finding safe harbor when it comes to his cruises. So if conditions make it difficult to dock safely after multiple attempts, then it’s an extra day at sea for ye mateys! To keep the pirates from becoming salty, Disney sprinkles some extra pixie dust if this occurs with additional onboard activities like extra character meet and greets.
Speaking of fun activities and entertainment,
Pirate Night is a buccaneer blast of an evening. Good on ya for wanting to scope out the perfect spot to watch the Pirates in the Caribbean deck party and the swashbuckling fireworks (weather permitting). If you want to be in the center of the action during the deck party, near the stage works best. If fireworks are more to your liking, then perch up on Deck 12 which overlooks the pool deck. It feels like a birds eye view of the festivities...pirate parrot approved!
The
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app is like the map that shows all the treasures to be found onboard during your cruise, from shows and movies, character greetings, Port Adventures, and deck plans.
While Castaway Cay is your port of call on this sailing, look through the telescope with me to the future as Disney Cruise Line just launched its website for the upcoming
Lighthouse Point in Eleuthera. Someday soon, there will be two Disney private islands in the Bahamas. Double the pleasure, double the fun!
Chart a course back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with more questions; we’d be happy to steer you in the right direction. Wishing you fair winds and following seas!
