Ahoy there, Cristina! Welcome to planDisney!
Ah, a Disney Cruise Line vacation on the
Disney Dream! I always love hearing Guests plans for the Disney Dream because it's such a great way to get your feet wet when it comes to Disney Cruise Line vacations - and an even better way to start racking-up the sailings toward Platinum
Castaway Club status, too! I'm sure when you and your crew board, you'll be ready to plan your NEXT cruise before you're even off the ship!
When it comes to planning for luggage, I'm the type of person who typically packs really light, so I usually can fit everything in one carry-on bag and one checked-bag regardless of how long my cruise is! Luckily, for people who may need a little extra room, or just want to be sure not to forget anything, Disney Cruise Line has
suggested packing lists based on your destination!
As a general rule, Disney Cruise Line sends you two luggage tags for each person in your stateroom in your pre-cruise arrival information. These tags are meant for your checked baggage, and should be placed on your luggage after you arrive in your departure city! Two bags is usually the limit, and on a 3- or 4-Night Bahamian itinerary on the Disney Dream, should be sufficient! However, if you truly need additional checked baggage, you can make that request by
contacting a Disney Cruise Line crew member. And when it comes to coolers, they are
actually on the prohibited items list except for coolers no larger than 12" x 12" x 12" [30.5cm x 30.5cm x 30.5cm], as carry-on luggage only for storing medications, baby food or items related to dietary restrictions only.
Like most airlines, Disney Cruise Line allows each guest to carry on a small piece of luggage when they board the ship as well as a personal item - so a bag plus a purse shouldn't be an issue! Just be sure that when you pack your carry-on bag, be sure to include your travel documents and any medications you may need!
Well, Cristina, I hope that helps you as you continue planning for your incredible Disney Cruise Line vacation! Thank you so much for your question, and if you have any other questions as your sailing comes up over the horizon, please sail my way again here at planDisney!
Until then, may your anchor be tight and your compass true!
