Hi. I will be traveling to Disney Dec 18-23rd with my 11 month old son. My husband is sending us for Christmas while he is deployed. I was wondering what the parks have to offer for my young son?

Hi Nicole! What a wonderful sweet and generous thing your husband is doing for you and your son for the holiday season!

I actually took my daughter for the first time to Walt Disney World when she was 11 months old. She is now 31 but I will never forget that visit. She had been a serious baby and didn't laugh but after one visit to the Tiki Birds in the Magic Kingdom she was a changed child. She laughed and giggled through the show and never stopped the rest of her years.

The memories you make with your son will be special even though others will say why are you going when he is so young. Don't listen and go into the parks and enjoy as many attractions as you can. There are some with height restrictions which you can't enjoy and others with darkness or loud noises which you will need to evaluate for your son but there are many attractions you can take him on where he will love the stimulation of the sounds and colors.

I suggest you plan days for yourself and when you are in the parks see what he can enjoy as well as far as rides. He will love just being in the stroller and riding! Be sure and hit the parades in the parks but be careful of the noise of the fireworks as that might be too intense.

Remember there are baby centers in each park where you can go for meal time or quiet time or changing time. They offer a nice break from the hectic pace made by others in the parks. They also offer supplies for sale if you have forgotten something back at the resort.

Enjoy your days at Disney....they will surely be some you will never forget as they were for me!
