Will be traveling to Disney for 8 days 01/2013 w/ husband and 3yo DD. Will have disney dining. What is a good amount of "spending" money to plan for?

Hi Brittany! I don't seem to have any problem spending while at Walt Disney World. There are so many fun and different things you will see in the stores and it is hard not to just purchase them all.  It is best to put kids on a budget and even yourself before you go. Souvenirs are expensive so determine an amount what you will want to spend on your three year old and for yourselves. Is there something you need or have wanted? Add that to the equation...maybe its some new ears for everyone or a new plush Mickey.

Since you are on the dining plan most of your food will be covered however there will always be a special bite somewhere you will want to taste. Or a fancy drink at dinner might inspire you.  There are also many things to do outside of the park such as boating, fireworks cruises, golf, and movies and more. Look to see if you have free spaces in your days where you might want to enjoy some of the sporting options at Disney. These will all cost extra from park tickets.

You will probably end up with a balloon or two and most guests will need more food then the plan allows. I would take at least $100 for each day of your vacation. If you don't need it great but you will have it to play with. That is on the conservative side as I don't know your schedule you have planned.
