Traveling to Disney in a couple weeks. We have a 6 yr old and a 8 mth old. Went this time last year and he was a breeze however never traveled with a baby before. What are some things we must have and what would one recommend when it comes to a stroller

Hi Jessica! I’m so happy you stopped in to see us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I promise you your family will have an awesome Summer vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort!

I’ve visited with my family when my youngest was 4 months old, then when she was 8 months old. It can totally be done! I made sure there was lots of downtime added to our plans. I brought my own stroller, but one can easily be rented at the entrance of any of the theme parks or from a private company who can offer different makes and models.

If you and your family are early risers, you can get the most out of arriving at the theme park of your choice right when it opens. That way you can all enjoy some short wait times at your favorite attractions. You can also take advantage of the Rider Switch Service. Making FastPass+ selections at least 30-days before your vacation is a great way to make sure plans go smoothly, too.

Baby Care Centers located at all four theme parks offer up a great, quiet and air-conditioned space to nurse, feed and change baby. The bathrooms are always squeaky clean and a great place for big brother or sister to take a bathroom break.

I would definitely take lots of snacks, lots of drinks and don’t forget the sunblock and mosquito repellent. I have always found that a mid-day nap is great for baby and for mom. Many times, I would stay in my Disney Resort hotel room while my baby would nap so I could recharge my batteries, and my husband would take my oldest daughter to the pool or for a sweet treat. That way everyone has some down time before we head back to a theme park at night to enjoy a firework show!

Jessica, feel free to visit us again if you have any more questions. Helping you with the details of your next magical vacation is our pleasure!
