We are traveling into Disney August 18th - 25th with our 5yr daughter, who has no idea we are coming and has never been, so surprise, surprise. Any suggestions for our first day/night to kick start our week?

    Greetings, Joanne!

Traveling to Walt Disney World® Resort with your little princess is going to be a magical experience for your whole family. Having traveled with all three of my children at the age five, I have found that stage to be my favorite. They are so full of wonder!

To start your vacation off on a magical note, try booking a character dining experience like Chef Mickey's Fun Time Buffet at Disney's Contemporary Resort or Cape May Cafe at Disney's Beach Club Resort. This will give your daughter the chance to dine with some of her favorite characters without having to enter a theme park. Another suggestion would be to head to Downtown Disney for dinner, some shopping for that special souvenir at World of Disney and then some live entertainment along the promenade. She will definitely know you are somewhere special.

I hope these suggestions are helpful, Joanne. Please do not hesitate to ask any additional questions you may have. The Disney Parks Moms Panel is here to help.

    Have a magical vacation!
