traveling Dec '12 trying to decide best moderate resort for twin 8yr old boys. Stayed at DWL the past 3yrs and loved it. I'm concerned about the size of the moderate resorts, seems like CBR is a great option but I'm stuggling with the size..

    Hi Loriann,

I love Disney's Wilderness Lodge too.  However, I think I can suggest a moderate Disney resort that will not disappoint your family.  A month ago I stayed with my students at Disney's Port Orleans Resort French Quarter.  It is the smallest of the moderate resorts at Walt Disney World.  I feels very similar in size to me as Disney's Wilderness Lodge.  Staying at a more compact resort will definitely save your family steps over the course of your vacation.  No matter where you room is, you're never far from the resort's food court, pool, and amenities.

Even though French Quarter is a moderate resort, the rooms have a very comfortable, sophisticated feel.  They were recently updated and have brand new bedspreads and a whole new look. I found them to be spacious and delightful. Again, I think these rooms share a similar feel with the standard rooms at Disney's Wilderness Lodge.  Obviously, the theming is different but beyond that, the two resorts share many traits.

Take a look at Disney's Port Orleans Resort French Quarter and let me know if you have additional questions.  Or, if you prefer, we can tell you more about staying at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort.  Just let us know what information you need and we'll be happy to assist you.

    Best wishes,
    Jill
