Hi Kim,
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP) at the Magic Kingdom is an incredible event to get into the Christmas spirit.
As part of the the event, they do have a special Christmas parade & a holiday version of the fireworks. Although they haven't released the schedule for the parades & fireworks for the 2011 dates, here is the schedule from the
2010 dates:
- Mickey's Once Upon A Christmastime Parade: 8:15 p.m. & 10:30 p.m. (Starts in Frontierland & ends in Town Square - 2nd parade is usually less crowded)
- "Holiday Wishes - Celebrate the Spirit of the Season" Fireworks Spectacular: 9:30 p.m.
- "A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas" Show: 7:45 p.m., 8:45 p.m., 9:55 p.m. 10:50 p.m. & 11:45 p.m.
- "Celebrate the Season" Show: 7:45 p.m., 10:05 p.m. & 11:20 p.m.
- Character Dance Parties throughout the party at The Diamond Horseshoe & Cosmic Rays
- Special Disney Character Meet & Greets 7:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.
Be sure to pick up an official MVMCP Guide when you enter the Magic Kingdom to confirm this year's schedule of events. In the past, I've seen the special event maps posted on unofficial Disney websites within hours of the first night of the event - Nov 8th is the first event night for the 2011 season.
If you'd like to be sure that you are able to have a sit down dinner that evening, I'd make reservations as soon as possible by calling 407-WDW-DINE. The Liberty Tree Tavern, Tony's Town Square Restaurant and The Plaza Restaurant are all very kid friendly and are not character meals.
Let us know if you have any other questions during your planning. Wishing you many magical holiday memories :-) Allison
