I am traveling with my DH, 2 DD's (age 2 & 4) along with my parents. Should we be making dining reservations each night? How hard is it to get a table at a table service restaurant w/o a reservation? When booking I'm finding late reservations for our g

    Hi Lindsay:

Since you are traveling with younger children and with your parents, they are probably used to eating at set times, I would strongly recommend making as many advance dining reservations as you can.  If you can't secure your favorite restaurants at preferred times, keep checking for cancelations.

In the vast majority of cases, it's possible to walk up to a Disney Restaurant and wait for an opening.  You may be able to wait for a while, depending on crowd level, popularity of the restaurant, and dining cancelation rate, so be prepared. In a handful of cases, I've seen the front desk at a restaurant tell Guests that they will absolutely not have room that evening and they are not accepting walk ups.

If you feel that your party may not be able to wait, be prepared to eat at second or third choices or quick service.  Your best bet for a walk up would be to head to the restaurant early to get your name down.  If you do try walk ups, I recommend getting to the restaurant as early as possible to get your name down in case there is a wait.

    Enjoy your vacation.
