Ahoy there, Lela, and welcome to planDisney. It’s hard to believe your cruise on the
Disney Magic is less than a month away! I can tell your faith is as important to you as it is to me, so I’m honored I get to be the one helping you with this question.
I spoke with a
Disney Cruise Line representative and found out that they will not be offering an Ash Wednesday service on their fleet. I know on past Easter sailings when they have not held a service on the ship, a Catholic Mass from the Vatican was made available on stateroom TVs. I don’t know if the same will hold true for your sailing, but Disney Cruise Line always does an incredible job of finding ways to accommodate the needs of their Guests. I would verify with Guest Services once onboard if this is an option or possibility.
I recognize you may have certain dietary requests that go along with Ash Wednesday and the Lent season, so you can add those dietary restrictions on your reservation. I would also recommend speaking to your lead server on the first night of your
dining rotation and sharing any dining requests as well.
Another way to celebrate and make your sailing special is to order something from
Onboard Gifts for your stateroom. While this may not have been the answer you were hoping for, I know one of the times I feel closest to God is while watching the sunrise from my verandah each morning of my cruise. I also order green tea and a croissant from
room service the night before so I have no reason to rush off to breakfast.
I understand more questions may arise before your trip, Lela, so don’t hesitate to come back and visit us here at
planDisney. I hope you have a blessed vacation!
Bon voyage,
Sami
