Ahoy, Regine!
Welcome aboard planDisney! My family and I sailed with some friends back in October and ran into this same buccaneer-sized predicament, so let’s get your dining plans back on course before you even set sail!
Since you and your cousin are booked separately, the first step is to
link your two reservations together. I like to do this on the Disney Cruise Line website (because I’m old-school like that), but you can also use the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. If you're on the website, hover over "Already Booked" and select "My Reservations." Find the drop-down for your reservation number, then click "Add and Link Reservations." You’ll need the confirmation number and birthdate from the other booking, but once linked, you’ll be grouped together for dining. And, as long as everyone in your crew is within their booking window, you can also book activities together—so you won’t have to leave your cousin home alone on
Castaway Cay while you’re off on adventures!
Now, here’s where I channel my inner Genie and recommend you wish for one more thing—
call Disney Cruise Line directly. Since you’ve already got the earlier dinner seating and your cousin is on the waitlist, calling can help ensure that you stay on the early dining schedule. Sometimes when reservations get linked, it can accidentally move everyone to the later seating (because even Disney magic needs a little fine-tuning sometimes). The Cast Members can double-check everything and make sure your crew gets to feast like royalty at the same table.
I hope this helps you chart the perfect course for a smooth and magical voyage! Wishing you delicious dinners, unforgettable adventures, and maybe even a little extra pixie dust along the way!
Sea ya real soon with luck in the air and magic everywhere,
Dustin
