Will my traveling companion/guest (my 11 year old niece) need any ID at check-in or any time? I have purchased a Disney package for the two of us and I will have ID for myself. Thank you

Hi Cynthia! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

What an exciting time to be planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort. I think that bringing your niece is such a wonderful treat. I am betting that this trip will be something that she will remember for the rest of her life. My niece came with me when she was around the same age as your niece. This year she will turn 18 and she still talks about her favorite memories from that trip!

In all of my years traveling to Disney I cannot think of a time that we have needed an ID for our children while at the Walt Disney World Resort. However if you are flying you will absolutely need ID for your niece. I also feel that it isn’t safe to travel without some form of identification for everyone in your traveling party. Therefore I would recommend that you bring a copy of your niece’s birth certificate just in case. It also is a good idea to have a note from her parents stating that she is under your care for the duration of your vacation and that should she need medical care it is ok for you to take her for that care.

I hope that you and your niece have the time of your lives! Make sure to take plenty of time to slow down and enjoy all of the magic!
