Hello. I am traveling from Colorado to Disneyland on October 3rd or 4th. I just logged on and noticed that the reservations are sold out for that day. Does that usually change? If not, do you allow anyone to make reservations at the gate on the day of?

Hiya Diana! Thanks for stopping by planDisney!

I'm sure you can't wait for your trip to The Happiest Place on Earth! I, too, love a good adventure, especially during "spooky season." Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort is one of the best times to visit! As a lover of all things villainous, I enjoy seeing more of the unusual characters in the parks, including the Pumpkin King himself on Haunted Mansion Holiday!

Since Halloween is such a popular time to visit, theme park reservations do fill up pretty quickly in October. There is a chance that theme park reservation availability can change, though it isn't the pumpkin I'd put all my candy in.. if you know what I mean. It is hard to base your entire trip on a "maybe." Reservations generally cannot be made at the gate unless they become available. To check availability in advance, save this Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar. This will show you which parks are available on which days. If you see that there is an opening, I'd jump on it quickly to secure your spot during your trip! You can keep checking that calendar, even multiple times of day, leading up to your trip to see if things have changed in your favor.

I'm sorry to deliver such un-magical news, Diana. I wish I could wave my magic wand and make those reservations open up for you. If you're unable to find reservations that work for you, there are plenty of ways to experience the magic outside of the theme parks. The Disneyland Resort Hotels offer that same magical atmosphere. There are delicious dining options, like Goofy's Kitchen, and even spa experiences, like Tenaya Stone Spa! You can also spend some time in the Downtown Disney District, where you'll find more dining, shopping and tasty treat options than you could even imagine!

If you'd prefer a Disney Parks Vacation and cannot find theme park reservations, your best bet would be to reschedule for another date where you can plan a bit more in advance and guarantee your entry into the parks.

I hope I've helped answer your question, Diana! Wishing you all the best on your upcoming adventure!

    Have a magical day,

    Ashley
